THERE ARE SEVERAL COMMON THREADS RUNNING THROUGH OUT MY LIFETIME THAT I FEEL QUALIFY ME TO BE MAYOR OF ANN ARBOR.

Tom and his son have expanded the business from one classroom at home to having over 30 locations in Michigan (still growing), 5 in Arizona and a Franchise Program..

2. Founder of the T. Wall Foundation: www.twallfoundation.org Tom founded this organization to give special need kids a way to participate and feel special about themselves. The mission of the T. Wall Foundation is to offer the Special Need Students an opportunity to interact with the general public, enrich their lives and inspire their future in the community.

3. Special Education Teacher:  Tom retired from teaching Special Education at Willow Run Community Schools where he learned quickly to listen to his special ed students and respected them by being sincere and telling the truth, Tom always stood by his promises and learned early on not to disappoint them. Superintendent Gayle Green said, “He is a crazy person in so many ways, in other ways, he is so commendable. The Kids loved him” (EMU Baseball Coach Ron Oestrike testimonial letter)

4. Camp Al-Gon–Quian: Tom was Chief Operating Officer of the Ann Arbor “Y’s” Camp Al-Gon–Quian. He was solely responsible for the operation of a multifaceted facility which housed over 180 campers including approximately over 50 staff members in Northern Michigan on Burt Lake. 6. Wall to Wall Fitness Centers From 1975 – 1981 while teaching school and raising a family Tom started a Fitness Company called Wall to Wall Fitness Centers. In 1974 Tom had a dream to start a fitness business with absolutely no working capitol Tom peddled his business plan to over 8 local banks. Every local banker he went to said he had no chance in the world of receiving an SBA. loan. Tom’s wife was very impressed as after each rejection he had a positive attitude and never gave up.  After each rejection from the banker Tom asked for a letter of rejection. Although only needing three, he took all 8 rejection letters to the Small Business Administration to seek a loan.. Despite the fact that the SBA was developed to help minorities start up business, they granted Tom a loan. With his never give up attitude and perseverance Tom was able to start up his business. (Testimonial letter from U of M Athletic Director Don Canham.)
